Acadia

sold out!
Acadia is a delightful and authentic Early Edwardian (Circa 1910) 14k yellow gold ring featuring an unusual gemstone combination. The ring centers a bezel set Round Mixed Cut amethyst gauged at approximately 7.50mm in diameter. A pair of Round white cultured pearls flank either side of the intensely saturated purple stone, each gauged at approximately 6mm in diameter. Acadia is further accented with four Old Mine Cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.25ct in combined weight. The ring is finished with magnificent scrolling filigree throughout the gallery and delightful wheat sheaf engraving along the entirety of the shank. It is currently a size 6 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. Please note, our jeweler will size the ring and try to keep the engraving as intact as possible.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
