Lily Pond is an Edwardian era ring (circa 1910) made from platinum centering a 0.72ct Old European Cut diamond with an estimated grade of G color and VS clarity. The antique diamond rests in a decorative four prong bombe style setting that tapers into gracefully sloping shoulders. The ring is further detailed with lacy filigree and touched with hand engraving along the shank.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
