Hammerwood

$16,750.00

Hammerwood is a spectacular and classic antique Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum and diamond solitaire engagement ring. The ring showcases an eight talon-prong set diamond accompanied by an EGL Diamond Report stating the 1.51cts Cushion Cut diamond is graded G color and VS1 clarity. The diamond has the illusion of a much larger stone due to its shallow depth and it is nestled low to the finger set inside the timeless setting while a hint of fluting along the platinum shoulders add a touch of elegance to this beautiful antique ring.

Hammerwood is currently a size 6 3/8 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. Please contact our concierge with sizing questions!

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
