Ballinger

sold out!
Ballinger is an authentic Edwardian era (circa 1915) ring, exemplifying the master craftsmanship of the era. The handmade platinum ring centers a bezel set Transitional Brilliant Cut diamond gauged at approximately 1.60ct and accompanied by a UGS Appraisal stating the diamond is graded F-G color and VS2 clarity. Due to the nature of the mounting, the diamond could not be removed from the setting, so it was graded in the mounting at UGS. The center diamond is gracefully complimented by a double halo of forty-eight Old Mine and Single Cut diamonds with an additional six diamonds lining the shoulders, totaling approximately 0.45ct in weight, each graded G-H color and SI clarity. Ballinger is finished with decadent milgraining along the beautiful platinum edges. It is currently a size 7.25 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
