McLaren Park is a sparkling and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum and diamond ring designed by the American jewelry house Shreve & Co. This remarkable engagement ring centers a 1.71ct diamond accompanied by a GIA Diamond Report stating the Old European Cut stone is graded I color and SI1 clarity. McLaren Park is further embellished with an additional fifty four Single Cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.75ctw and graded F-G color and VS clarity. The superbly crafted platinum ring is subtly accented by open metalwork and migrained edges, an extraordinary example of Edwardian era craftsmanship! McLaren Park is finished with a beautiful hand-engraved tapered platinum shank, stamped on the inside of the band is the maker’s mark Shreve & Co, a beloved American jewelry company founded in San Francisco in 1852.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
