Willoughby Lane is a splendid and authentic early Edwardian era (circa 1910) platinum and 18k yellow gold diamond halo ring. The antique ring features a unique, evenly-hued sunny center Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond accompanied by a GIA Colored Diamond Grading Report stating the 1.77ct diamond is Fancy Light Brownish Yellow in color and SI1 clarity. The stunningly unusual center diamond is bezel-set in 18k yellow gold, highlighting the exceptional color and finished with a lovely light milgrain detail. Willoughby Lane’s center stone is surrounded by a glittering halo of ten platinum prong-set Old European Cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.25ct in combined weight, each graded F-G color and VS clarity. The ring is finished with a decadent chevron-patterned engraving that travels down the band to a sweet floral motif on the platinum band.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
