Featherstone is an amazing and authentic example of Art Nouveau craftsmanship. Hallmarks on the inside shank indicate that the beautiful 18k yellow gold ring was originally made in Birmingham, England in 1907. This special antique piece features three enchanting Oval Cabochon Cut Australian opals, each displaying bright flashes of rainbow play-of-color. Featherstone is further framed by ten Old Mine Cut diamonds with a total approximate weight of 0.16ct. The ring is finished with an 18k yellow gold shank that tapers slightly towards the base of the ring. It is currently a size 7 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. HISTORY
In contrast to the concurrent Edwardian period, jewelry from the Art Nouveau period was an artistic revolt against the technological advances of the industrial age, instead focusing heavily on handcrafting and creative design. In this jewelry, unusual gemstones like opal, agate, and moonstone were popular, and diamonds were more often used as subtle accents.
