Lille

sold out!
Lille is a wonderfully feminine and authentic early Edwardian (circa 1910) platinum and 14k yellow gold ring. This perfect antique ring features a classic diamond and pearl combination. The ring centers a sweet cream colored pearl measuring approximately 6.20mm in diameter. Please note, the center pearl is not certified but we can conclude the pearl is most likely natural based on the age of the ring. Lille is further illuminated by a halo of eleven mixed Old Mine and Old European Cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.70ct in weight. Lille is reminiscent of a beautiful flower and we love it here at Trumpet & Horn! The ring is finished with lovely scalloped metalwork that borders each diamond and is touched with stunning milgraining. It is currently a size 5.25 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
