Mount Pleasant

sold out!

Mount Pleasant is a unique and authentic early-Edwardian (circa 1910) platinum and 18k yellow gold engagement ring. The diamond cluster ring centers a four-prong set 0.72ct EGL certified Old European Cut diamond graded H color and SI2 clarity. A halo of eight Old Mine Cut diamonds gracefully surround the center diamond, totaling approximately 0.85ct in weight. Each antique stone is wrapped in a platinum bezel, creating a wonderful scalloped border around the ring. Mount Pleasant is finished with a simple, lightly polished 18k yellow gold shank. The ring is currently a size 5.5 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. Please contact our concierge with sizing questions.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
