Old Portsmouth is an alluring authentic Edwardian era (circa 1910) platinum halo style ring centering a single bezel set Old European Cut diamond gauged at 0.50ct graded G color and SI1 clarity. A lovely halo of ten Single Cut diamonds embellish the center stone, with an additional 2 diamonds on each shoulder totaling approximately 0.45ct in weight. All of the diamonds are nestled within its own platinum scalloped frame. Old Portsmouth is finished with unique open metal work separating the center diamond from the accenting halo and additionally detailed with subtle milgrained edges. The ring is currently a size 6.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
