Shellharbour is a glorious and authentically Edwardian era (circa 1910) opal and diamond ring. The ring centers a natural white opal is set east-west and is approximately 2.00ct in weight. The stunning oval cabochon opal displays a dramatic rainbow play-of-color, predominantly green and blue with a touch of orange. Shellharbour is accented by an oval-shaped halo of fourteen Old European Cut diamonds totaling approximately 2.00ct in weight. The halo is further decorated with whimsical scalloped edges with light milgraining. The ring is finished with a simple, slim platinum shank, and has a remarkably low profile for all-day comfortable wear.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
