Strasbourg

sold out!
Strasbourg is a gorgeous and special antique Belle Époque (circa 1905) two-tone diamond cluster engagement ring. The platinum-topped ring centers a fabulous Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond accompanied by a GIA Diamond Report stating the 1.08ct diamond is graded K color (faint brown) and VS1 clarity. The wonderfully chunky center stone is elegantly framed by a cluster of eight Old Mine Cut diamonds that total approximately 2.50ct in additional weight. Strasbourg is finished with an 18k yellow gold shank that was most likely added in 1960s and is stamped with much-coveted French hallmarks on the outside shank. This beautiful piece of history is already a favorite here at Trumpet & Horn, and at least one of us will be absolutely devastated to see it go!

Strasbourg is currently a size 7 and can be sized to fit most sizes. Please contact our concierge with sizing questions.

HISTORY
In contrast to the concurrent Edwardian period, jewelry from the Art Nouveau period was an artistic revolt against the technological advances of the industrial age, instead focusing heavily on handcrafting and creative design. In this jewelry, unusual gemstones like opal, agate, and moonstone were popular, and diamonds were more often used as subtle accents.
