Strathmore

sold out!

Strathmore is a magnificent and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1905) 18k yellow gold, platinum-topped diamond engagement ring. This handcrafted beauty centers an amazing Old European Brilliant Cut diamond accompanied by a GIA Diamond Report stating that the diamond weighs 1.60ct and is graded K color and VS2 clarity. The gorgeous antique diamond is flanked on either side by two moody Rose Cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.08ct in weight. Strathmore is finished with delicately milgrained edges along the platinum shoulders and a clean 18k yellow gold shank. Our favorite detail of this gorgeous old ring is the crown-like basket in which the center diamond sits, the angular two-tone design is incredible! Check out how this diamond sparkles here.

Strathmore is currently a size 6.75 and can be sized to fit. Contact the concierge with sizing questions!

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
