HISTORY
When World War I began in 1914, manufacturing of jewelry came to a stop. Hard times brought on by the war marked the end of fashions and trends popular in the Art Nouveau and Edwardian eras. Women started taking over men’s roles in the workplace, ushering in a new era of independence for women. With the end of the war, the “Roaring 20’s” ushered in a new attitude and desire to live life to the fullest. The Art Deco era was highly influenced by global politics and social issues, spanning nearly two decades from 1918-1935.
