Windmill Way

sold out!

Windmill Way is a fun and whimsical ring pieced together from several generations past. The center halo of the ring most likely started out as an Edwardian era stick pin, while the outer diamond frame was probably added in the 1930's to become an earring. Years later, a shank was added to turn this pretty piece of history into the Windmill Way ring you see today! The ring is designed in platinum and 18k yellow gold set with a total of twenty-seven Old European Cut and Round Brilliant Cut diamonds, weighing approximately 0.80ct. It is complete with an 18k yellow gold shank. The ring is currently a size 6.25 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
