Windward is an exceptional and authentically antique Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum, diamond and sapphire ring. The ring centers a four-prong set diamond accompanied by an EGL Report stating the 1.24cts Transitional Brilliant Cut diamond is graded G color and VS2 clarity. This regal engagement ring features soft lines of twenty Old Mixed Cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.15cts in combined weight. Windward is additionally detailed with curved rows of sixteen beautifully matched natural Calibre Cut sapphires. The contrast between the two stones makes this thoughtfully designed ring a rare and stunning piece of history.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
