Zurich is a magnificent Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum solitaire engagement ring. This one-of-a-kind ring centers a 4.26ct GIA certified Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond graded L color and VS2 clarity. The incredible, pillow-like diamond is nestled simply within a talon-prong setting. The stone is delicately enhanced by subtle milgraining along throughout the gallery and platinum shoulders. Zurich is currently a size 6.5 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes.
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
