They say distance makes the heart grow fonder...but it's about time these two finally lived in the same country! College sweethearts Rumi & Kevin met at grad school & have been long distance almost ever since! But this month Kevin popped the question with a stunning custom Novato ring with a yellow sapphire! Read Kevin's side of their adorable love story:

Rumi and I met three years ago while in graduate school at UPenn. Since then, however, work has pulled us in different directions geographically – New York for Rumi and England for me. Through the power of FaceTime and flexible working schedules, we’ve weathered the transatlantic separation for the past two years. But, of course, we’re eager to be in the same time zone and under one roof. During Rumi’s last visit to England, we spent five glorious days in the Lake District, where we had sunny (and very un-English weather) throughout.

On our first full day of the trip, we hiked along Lake Buttermere and then up a peak with commanding 360 degree views of the lakes and valleys below. No better place for a proposal. Rumi said yes almost as soon as my knee touched the ground and before she even saw the ring. The ring is a something of a hybrid, combining several beautiful design elements from the Trumpet & Horn catalogue. The brilliant Liz and I schemed for weeks in order to create a truly unique ring for Rumi. And I think we succeeded! Rumi will be moving to London next year, which will mark the end of our long-distance separation and the beginning of our new life together.
