Ravenna

sold out!

Ravenna is an eye catching and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1905) mixed white metal ring. After performing an x-ray analysis on the metal, the ring proved to be made up of approximately 70% 18k white gold, 20% palladium and 7-8% silver, an extremely rare metal combination! This unique vintage ring centers a Rose Cut diamond gauged at approximately 0.60ct, graded H-I color and SI1 clarity. This simple yet one-of-a-kind ring is accented by a delicately engraved white halo featuring a chevron pattern and subtle milgraining. Ravenna is finished with an engraved white gold shank continuing the chevron pattern. The ring is currently a size 7.75 and can be sized to fit. Please note, the center diamond was not removed from the original setting, so the diamond was graded by a gemologist. The carat, color and clarity is estimated.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
