Lockengate is a lovely and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1910) opal ring made from a mix of silver, gold and palladium featuring a stunning oval opal. This gorgeous natural white Australian opal is 2.88cts in weight and flashes dramatically with rainbow play-of-color, predominantly orange, green and a touch of blue. Lockengate is set in an elegant handmade four-prong Edwardian setting. It is currently a size 5.5 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. Please contact our concierge with sizing questions.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
