Ring Sizing & Repairs

Ring Sizing

Most of our Trumpet & Horn rings include sizing at the time of purchase to ensure that your ring fits perfectly! Some beautiful vintage rings are a little more delicate than others, so to keep sizing to a minimum we would prefer to wait to size until we know you or your partner loves and will keep the ring. In addition, made to order rings in your size are not eligible for a complimentary re-sizing, nor are rings purchased from the Last Call collection. Please contact us for details!

If you know your size already, we will gladly size the ring before we send it to you and it will be yours to keep. Please note that rings that need to be sized up or down 2 sizes or more will be subject to a sizing fee and will be final sale not eligible for return or exchange. We will asses the ring sizing cost on a case-by-case basis, contact us for details! Any ring that needs to be sized or ordered under a size 4 or over a size 9 will be final sale, not eligible for return or exchange.

If you are not certain of your size, we can send you the ring at its current size along with a ring-sizer. When you are ready to have the ring sized, you can simply mail it back to us. We will provide you with instructions for packing up your ring to ensure that it arrives to us safely. We will get your ring back to you within five to ten business days. Please note that you will be responsible for any associated shipping fees.

Our goal is to make certain that all Trumpet & Horn rings are the perfect fit for our customers. For our international customers, check out this handy ring size conversion chart from Ring Sizes Co!

Repairs

Once the ring is in your possession, it is yours to keep, and you are responsible for maintaining its good condition. We highly recommend you purchase jewelry insurance and follow our tips for cleaning and caring for your vintage ring. We recommend Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company.

In the event that you lose an accent stone, or the ring shank needs repair, contact us to discuss having your ring repaired by our expert antique jeweler. We are always happy to help our lifelong T&H customers!

Here are just a few examples of the services we can provide. Price is quoted on a case by case basis:

  • Tightening loose stones
  • Split or broken shank
  • Broken or snapped prongs
  • Bent or misshapen rings
  • Center stone replacement in the event of loss or damage. Again, we highly recommend that you get insurance!
  • Damage to soft stones like opals, pearls, morganite, aquamarine and emerald.
  • Loose stones
  • Brent or broken shanks
  • Totalled Rings**
  • Lost accent stones

These are the most common repairs we see and the approximate cost ranges for that repair. Please note the price of each service is determined on a case by case basis:

  • Bent or Broken Ring Shank (approx. $100 - $300) for repair. This usually occurs due to housework, wearing your ring at the gym, or carrying boxes. We highly recommend taking your ring off and storing it somewhere safe in these situations!
  • Lost Accent Stones (approx. $100 - $300) for repair. This can happen if you accidentally knock your hand into something or if your prong gets caught on something and becomes bent.
  • Loose Stones (approx. $80) for repair. Over time both vintage and new rings can become loose and prongs around stones need to be tightened. You can test this yourself by gently tapping the center stone near your ear. If you hear any rattling, it's likely that your center stone should be tightened.
  • Broken Prongs (approx. $80 per prong) for repair. Prongs can get caught on clothing or blankets which causes them to loosen over time. Or hitting a ring on a hard surface can cause damage to prongs.
  • Ring Sizing (approx. $100 - $300 excluding re-shanking). While we offer sizing to most rings at the time of purchase, sometimes you need to go up or down a bit to get the perfect fit. Weight fluctuation, age, pregnancy, weather and even that salty dinner you had last night can affect your ring size.

All services are subject to a $75.00 shipping and handling fee. This fee includes fully insured, 2-way, 2-Day Express UPS shipping (applies to US residents only).

** If your ring is 'totalled' or seems beyond repair, give us a call! We can fix almost anything and will provide you with a custom quote after seeing the damage to your ring in person.
