Fairmead is an incredible and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum and diamond solitaire engagement ring. The elegant antique ring showcases a single Old European Cut diamond accompanied by a GIA Diamond Report stating the 1.52ct stone is graded L color and VS2 clarity. The gorgeous center Old Euro is gracefully accented by four Single Cut diamonds set along the shoulders of the ring totaling approximately 0.15ctw. Fairmead is further detailed with lovely open metalwork along the gallery depicting stylized flowers along each side. The romantically decorated ring is finished with a slightly tapering platinum shank with light hand engraving.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
