Congrats are in order for Jessalyn & Jared, two new members of the #trumpettribe! This East Coast couple got engaged right before their island getaway with the bespoke Hammerscourt ring after seeing it in person in our LA showroom. Jessalyn was enamored with the ring, but it had just SOLD! So we went ahead and made one just for her :) It was fate! Read their adorable love story below:
Jessalyn and Jared like to say they met the “old fashioned” way…at a bar! Truth be told, their story is one of happenstance, luck, and being in the right place at the right time. The Southern California native, Jared, had been living in their small Maryland town for almost 7 years, and the two had never met! Jared had just gotten out of another relationship, and his good friends dragged him off the couch, and out to a favorite local watering hole for a guys night. Jessalyn was also having a lazy night in (read: sweatpants and cat snuggles), when a friend suggested they head out for a girls get-together. After she noticed him staring at her from across the bar, Jared finally worked up the courage to introduce himself, and strike up a conversation. With a little help from his wing-man Kelly, Jared gave Jessalyn his number. She got in touch the same week to invite him on a date to the art gallery where she works, and the rest is history!
These two celebrated four years together in January, and the subject of marriage seemed to keep creeping up in conversation. Jared knew he wanted to marry Jessalyn since their first date. He also knew that since they are complete opposites, he wanted to involve her in selecting an engagement ring, to ensure they chose a ring that was not only beautiful but unique to her. After looking at several chain jewelers, and other local stores, Jessalyn turned her search online. After months of searching, she found a few beautiful rings on Etsy, but nothing compared to her discovery of Trumpet & Horn’s Hammerscourt ring. Jessalyn couldn’t get that ring out of her head, and after several (not so subtle) hints to Jared, they decided to pay T&H a visit during their annual holiday trip to see Jared’s SoCal family. Jessalyn was monitoring Hammerscourt daily, and three days before they were scheduled to leave, the ring sold! Absolutely crushed, Jessalyn didn’t even want to visit the store, but Jared talked her into going, thinking she might find something else she loved. When they arrived at T&H, Jessalyn spewed her ring sob story to Shelia and Liz, and as good fortune would have it, another version of Hammerscourt was currently in production! Over the next several months, Jared worked closely (and secretly!) with Shelia to ensure that every aspect of the ring was perfect.
Jared chose to propose to Jessalyn the night before they were scheduled to leave for a cruise to Bermuda. The two planned the trip in celebration of Jessalyn’s 30th birthday in April. Jessalyn had a suspicion that Jared would use the trip as the perfect opportunity to propose, but he had other plans. Jared wanted to be able to celebrate not only Jessalyn’s birthday but also their engagement on the trip. He worked up a plan to lure her to a waterfront wharf, where the couple spent a lot of time together when they first started dating. The weather was unseasonably cold (snow in April?!), and Jared decided that was the universe’s way of choosing the perfect day to ask Jessalyn to spend the rest of their lives together. Jared got down on one knee and presented Jessalyn with the ring of her dreams. Spoiler alert: SHE SAID YES!!! Jared and Jessalyn are thrilled with their T&H purchase, and to be a part of the Trumpet & Horn Tribe! They can’t wait to celebrate their big day next spring!
