Ashdale
Ashdale is an early retro era mixed metal vintage diamond engagement ring from 1938. This fun two-tone ring clearly marks the transition between the linear designs of the Art Deco era and the beginning of the Retro-Modern era that became popular after World War II. This ring was likely referred to as an "illusion" ring. It was crafted in a combination of 18k white gold and yellow gold to add drama to the ring.
Ashdale centers an Old European Cut diamond weighing approximately 0.20ct and is estimated at H color VS1 clarity. Beautiful metal work including hand engraving, piercing, and milgraining add texture and sparkle to the ring making the center diamond look bigger and bolder. These were popular techniques used to make jewelry more beautiful without the expense of adding more precious stones. The ring is finished with elegant hand engraving and a decorative, hand pierced gallery beneath.
Ashdale is currently a size 6 and can be sized to fit.
