Bermuda

sold out!

Bermuda is an elegant sapphire ring that was converted from an incredible authentic Edwardian (circa 1910) bar brooch. Trumpet & Horn decided it would make an even prettier ring so we added a simple 18k yellow gold shank. The platinum and 18k yellow gold ring centers a wonderful Cushion Cut sapphire gauged at 0.95ct accompanied with a Guild Laboratories certificate stating the sapphire is unheated and has Thailand origin. A halo of twelve Single Cut border the center sapphire and an additional halo of twenty Calibre Cut natural sapphires frame the outside that total approximately 0.60ct. Bermuda is finished with four Old European Cut diamonds detailing each corner of the ring with a total approximate weight of 0.20ct. The ring is complete with a newly handmade 18k yellow gold split shank. Bermuda is currently a size 5.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets. This particular ring was originally a bar brooch, and was converted into a ring by Trumpet & Horn in 2015.
