Carlotta is a superb and authentic early Edwardian era (circa 1910) platinum and 18k yellow gold cluster ring with the ever-so coveted French hallmarks. The ring centers lovely natural sapphire gauged at approximately 1.45ct in weight. The intensely blue colored sapphire is further enhanced by a lovely halo of nine Old Mine Cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.10ct in combined weight. Carlotta is finished with an 18k yellow gold shank that tapers inwards towards the top of the ring. It is currently a size 6 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
