Fairchild is a wonderfully feminine Art Nouveau (circa 1905) platinum topped 18k yellow gold ring with coveted English Hallmarks. Originally made in Sheffield, England the ring centers a sweet 4.6mm cream colored pearl illuminated by a halo of eight Old European Cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.65ct and graded G-H color and VS clarity. Fairchild sits low to the finger and is reminiscent of a beautiful white flower. The ring is finished with a slightly tapering shank and is currently a size 6.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
Much of the popular Victorian jewelry was inspired by Queen Victoria’s style. For example, birthstones were popular in engagement rings because Victoria wore hers with an emerald. The Victorian era is further divided into Early (1837–1860), Mid (1860–1885), and Late (1890–1901) periods, reflecting changes in Victoria’s life and personal style. Early and late Victorian period jewelry is often described as having a romantic look, but mid-Victorian style is darker and more sentimental, reflecting Victoria’s personal period of mourning after the loss of her husband and mother.
