Ivy Hill

sold out!

Ivy Hill is a beautifully romantic and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1910) platinum topped 14k yellow gold engagement ring. The ring centers a bezel set 0.68ct EGL certified Old European Cut diamond graded F color and VS1 clarity. The extremely white diamond is further surrounded by a halo of nine Old European Cut diamonds that total approximately 0.85ct in weight. Each surrounding diamond is set within a platinum bezel that creates a beautiful scalloped design around the edges. Ivy Hill is finished with hand engraved milgrained edges throughout. The ring is completed by a simple, slightly tapering 14k yellow gold shank that was likely replaced in the 1960's. The ring is currently a size 6.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
