Manhattan

sold out!

Manhattan is a breathtaking and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1910) 18k yellow gold ring topped with platinum. This handcrafted beauty centers an incredible antique Cushion Cut diamond accompanied with an EGL certificate stating the diamond is 2.12cts and graded K color and SI2 clarity. Due to the spread of the stone, it has the illusion of a three carat diamond, creating a substantial presence on the hand. Manhattan is flanked on either side by two pair of Old European Cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.16ct in weight. Manhattan is currently a size 5.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
