Red Roof

sold out!

Red Roof is a fun and creative 18k white and 18k yellow gold ring designed in France in the 1940's, indicated by crisp French hallmarks on the outside shank. The ring centers a single Cultured cream colored pearl gauged at approximately 5.10mm and mounted within a simple bezel setting detailed with milgrained edges. Red Roof is further adorned by a halo of twelve synthetic calibre cut rubies also set within a yellow gold bezel totaling approximately 0.60ct in weight and detailed with lovely milgraining. The ring is finished with a white gold leaf shaped design set along each shoulder. Please note a couple of the rubies have normal wear and slight surface abrasion due to the age of the vintage ring. Red Roof is currently a size 8.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
As economic growth expanded the upper middle class in the 1950s, jewelry reflected this new prosperity with flashy, dramatic designs and a focus on diamond stones. The basic designs were quite similar to the Retro period, but were executed differently, often featuring textured accents and engraved finishes.
